Our New Compulsory Subject "Introduction to Regional Comprehension" and Special Program "Comprehensive Regional Studies"

To accomplish the goal of the project, we will force through three reforms in the curriculum to incorporate the principle of "See, Join and Act" to all of our related courses.
First, "Introduction to Regional Comprehension" will open, which can be taken by all freshmen (approx. 1,800 students). In this subject, the students will learn about the relationships between their own specific areas and regions through active learning. We will launch it as a compulsory subject in all of our courses in 2016.
Second, the common special program "Comprehensive Regional Studies" will be run to facilitate students' autonomus learning.
Third, volunteer activities carried out in local communities will be regarded as specialized subjects in the curriculum, and will be eligible for credits. This is part of our approach for enhancing region-related subjects and field studies.
